Conflict Minerals PolicyDated Feb. 17, 2021
“Conflict Minerals” are metals such as tantalum (Ta), tin (Sn), tungsten (W), gold (Au) and cobalt(Co) sourced from mines in Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) or adjoining countries’ conflict areas. Due to the illegal mining and human rights abuses in these areas controlled by non-government army group, the U.S. law, Dodd-Frank Wall Str eet Reform and Consumer Protection Act H.R.4173, is passed and the section 1502 defines the conflict minerals requirements.
Under the rules of the U.S Securities and Exchange Commission relating to conflict minerals, companies that manufacture or contract to manufacture products that contains conflict minerals necessary to the functionality or production of products are required to make public disclosure about the origin of the conflict minerals and the company's due diligence on the source and chain of custody of those minerals if they originate from the DRC or adjoining countries.
Star Metronic supports the humanitarian goal of ending violence conflict in the DRC and surrounding countries and guarantee that minerals from area sources are not being used in Star Metronic's products.
We are committed to the responsible sourcing of “conflict-free minerals” throughout and continually comply with the SEC rules and regulations .
